Imphal East hold KMC

Imphal, April 24: Imphal East Veteran Football Association held KMC Champai by a 1-1 draw in the 16th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

Imphal East got their first goal in the 20th minute with Novalson locking horns with the diving KMC keeper, who fumbled to collect the ball which Ranjan Singh shot home for the opening goal.

KMC Champai surged back as Th. Shehsat fetched the equaliser in the 30th minute to level scores 1-1. The second half failed to produce any more goals.

The other match featuring All Yairipok Master Football Association, Yairipok and Tulihal Educated Association, Yairipok, also ended in a 1-1 draw. Both teams had to remain content with a point each The first half was goalless.

However, as soon as the second half began, Tulihal Educated found their opening goal through Md Zakir Khan in the 31st minute for the lead.

However, All Yairipok Master drew parity in the 49th minute from a penalty awarded because of a handball.

Y. Ingobi Singh converted the kick to perfection to level scores 1-1.
