BPF hires copter for campaign

Kokrajhar, April 18: The Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) has intensified its election campaign in the area, with just few days left for the polls. The party has also hired a helicopter to reach out to the people in the remote areas.

Party president and BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, along with party MP (Rajya Sabha) Biswajit Daimary, today travelled to Sukhanjhora in Kokrajhar and later flew to Rupohi and Tamulpur in Baksa district to hold two election rallies for Chandan Brahma in Kokrajhar constituency.

Mohilary said his party is working for all-round development of the region.

He slammed Naba Kumar Sarania alias Hira Sarania, the Independent backed by Jonogosthiyo Oikyo Moncho, and Urkhao Gwra Brahma (backed by Absu and its allied organisations) saying that they have no any influence in society.

Addressing an election rally for BPF party candidate Chandan Brahma at Shukanjhora in Kokrajhar and Rupohi in Baksa, Mohilary said the media has been partial against the BPF.

He accused the media of working in favour of Independent candidate U.G. Brahma and Hira Sarania and against the BPF by not highlighting the truth.

Urkhao Gwra Brahma (the consensus Independent candidate of Absu and its allied organisations), Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary (Independent), Naba alias Hira Sarania (the consensus candidate of the Jonogosthiyo Oikyo Moncho), Sabda Rabha (Independent) and Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary of the Trinamul Congress were also seen actively campaigning at various places, garnering public support to vote for the respective candidates.
