Towers for election

Forty-seven hamlets of Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha seat would be temporarily equipped with portable mobile towers for electronic surveillance on May 7, the polling day.

The Election Commission has identified these areas as communication shadow zone, where telecommunication network doesn’t work. District magistrate Anupam Kumar said this while announcing the election notification for Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha seat.

Installed on motor vehicles, these towers are useful for quick response teams during emergency. The polling and cops in these areas would be given satellite phones.
