The Natural Way

Suparna Trikha Dewan has natural solutions to all your beauty problems

It doesn't take long hours of grooming to look good — it's just seven-and-a-half minutes to a glowing skin! So if your skin is beginning to look dead and lifeless, here are some easy tips that can bring on that
natural glow …

Assess your skin type:

While oily skin looks greasy/dull and is prone to blackheads, whiteheads and pimples, dull skin lacks shine and lustre and shows signs of dryness and is prone to lines and wrinkles. Combination skin is identified by an oily T-zone (that's a greasy forehead, nose and chin) and dryness on the cheeks.

Five-minute cleansing routine for oily skin:

Wipe your skin with a solution made with 100ml rose water and 2 tsp powdered camphor. Dilute the camphor in the rose water and store in a bottle in the fridge. To reduce oiliness you can wipe your skin with this several times a day. Also, use a pack made with 2 tsp Fuller's Earth, 1 tsp camphor powder, 1 tsp sandalwood powder and 1 tsp mint powder. Mix this with cold water and apply on the face and neck for five minutes and wash off with fridge water.

Five-minute cleansing programme for dry skin:

Wipe your face with a cotton pad dipped in a mixture of rose water and cold milk. Then apply a cleansing pack made with 1 tsp milk powder, 1 tsp almond powder and 1 tsp china clay. Mix these ingredients with full cream milk to form a smooth paste and apply on the face and neck. Wash off scrubbing gently in a rotating manner.

Five-minute cleansing programme for combination skin:

Wipe the face with cold rose water and apply a natural pack made with 1 tsp Fuller's Earth and a pinch of camphor powder mixed with water on the T-zone. For the rest of face apply a pack made with milk powder mixed with rice water. Leave on for five minutes and wash off.
