Blue Pine victorious

Guwahati, April 10: Blue Pine School thrashed Sudarshan Public School by 95 runs in their match of the first Under-15 Inter-school Cricket Tournament organised by The Art of Cricket Club at the Janata Bhawan Parade Ground here today.

Electing to bat, Blue Pine School put up a competitive total of 148 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their stipulated 15 overs. Sahil Jain topscored with 29 runs off 32 balls which included three boundaries.

Dharmendar Rai chipped in with 28 runs off 10 deliveries with three hits to the fence and two over the ropes.

Abhijit Deka was the wrecker-in-chief with four wickets for 23 runs in his allotted three overs.

In reply, Sudarshan Public School batsmen were bundled out for a paltry 53 runs in 8.5 overs.

Rahul Das was the lone batsman to reach double figures with 12 runs off five balls. Sahil Jain was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets to his kitty for seven runs in two overs while Sourish Choudhury scalped three wickets going for 19 runs in 2.5 overs.

Sahil was adjudged the Man of the Match for his splendid all-round performance.
