Shillong, April 8: Brandwagon, a three-member team from IIM Shillong, who won the national finals of L’Oréal Brandstorm in Mumbai recently, will be heading to Paris — the world’s fashion capital — for the international finals and a chance to win 10,000 euros.
Balakrishnan Muthukrishnan, Ninad Shukla and Ramanathan Kathiresan, who brand themselves “We are #Krazyforkiehls”, defeated teams from Faculty of Management Studies, New Delhi, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai, and Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, Hinjawadi, in the national finals.
The challenge was to present an analysis and offer recommendations on the cosmetics retail brand Kiehl’s. The IIM Shillong team conducted a thorough research; understanding men’s skincare needs and problems. They also carried out an in-depth study of Kiehl’s current portfolio, competitor analysis and identified gaps in the market.
“We are really glad that we have made our institute proud at the national level. We are now looking forward to make our country proud in the international arena. The countless sleepless nights and hours of hard work have finally paid off,” an ecstatic Shukla said.
The presentations of the participating teams were evaluated by Anuradha Sen Gupta, journalist and anchor, Anurag Tyagi, brand manager, Kiehl’s, Jean-Christophe Letellier, managing director, L’Oréal India, Marco Riggio, director of Luxe products, L’Oréal India, and Mohit James, director (human resources), L’Oréal India. Team Brandwagon will represent India and compete with teams from 45 countries at the L’Oréal Brandstorm International Finals in Paris in June.
