Naidu dig at Trinamul

Calcutta, April 6: BJP MP Venkaiah Naidu today said Trinamul “has become our main adversary in Bengal” and alleged that the ruling party was “attacking BJP workers” ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

On a day’s visit to Calcutta to observe the BJP’s foundation day, Naidu said the party would come to power on its own at the Centre. “The BJP will form the government on its own and this is why there is no need to take support from other political parties post elections,” he said.

Asked about Naidu’s remarks, a Trinamul general secretary said: “We believe in democracy. There is no point giving importance to his comments.”
