Coaching camp at Hailakandi

Hailakandi, March 26: Former India captain of the under-19 women’s football team S. Ibeyaima Devi will train footballers of Hailakandi district at a camp in July. It is scheduled to be held at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium here.

Altogether 20 talented women footballers of the district will be selected for the camp.

Ibeyaima is also a C licensee coach of the Asian Football Confederation.

This initiative has been taken by the managing committee of Kiyang Khasia Tribal Memorial High School of Hailakandi that had won the inter-school under-17 women’s football championship.

The school had taken part in the state-level under-17 championship in Guwahati last year.

During their match against Baksa High School, Kiyang's Payel Das was selected and she underwent coaching from February 24 to March 10.
