Familiar AAP faces in Mumbai

Mumbai, March 25: The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party has fielded candidates from all 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.

The party has fielded its known faces from Mumbai’s seats. Former banker Meera Sanyal will battle sitting MP Milind Deora of the Congress, Arvind Sawant of the Shiv Sena and Bala Nandgaonkar of the MNS in Mumbai South.

Social activist Medha Patkar will take on NCP MP Sanjay Dina Patil, BJP’s Kirit Somaiya and the Samajwadi Party’s Raees Shaikh in Mumbai North East.

AAP’s Mumbai convener Mayank Gandhi will fight Congress MP Gurudas Kamat, Shiv Sena’s Gajanan Kirtikar and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar of the MNS in Mumbai North West.

Jurist Nani Palkhivala’s lawyer son Phiroze Palkhivala will contest against Congress MP Priya Dutt and BJP’s Poonam Mahajan Rao in Mumbai North Central.

AAP’s Maharashtra convener Anjali Damania will take on BJP’s Nitin Gadkari in Nagpur.

Soft-spoken Vijay Pandhare, the former chief engineer in water resources department who blew the lid on the multi-crore irrigation scam in Maharashtra, will take on NCP minister Chhagan Bhujbal in Nashik.

Critically acclaimed actor Nandu Madhav, who played Dadasaheb Phalke in a Marathi movie on the film pioneer, will fight BJP leader Gopinath Munde in Beed.
