Sarania lists poll agenda

Kokrajhar, March 23: Pro-talks Ulfa leader and a consensus candidate of Janogosthio Aikya Mancha in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat Hira Sarania is taking up the issue of the prevailing law and order situation in the BTAD and opposing further bifurcation of the state as a major poll plank.

Sarania today visited Fakiragram in Kokrajhar as part of the election campaign.

Sarania said the majority of the people did not like further bifurcation of Assam and he would oppose it.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the meeting, he said talks are being held with other organisations as well to support him in the poll.

Sarania said non-violence is the only way to solve every issue and urged the militant groups to shun arms and join the peace process.
