Ranchi: Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday announced candidates for seven of 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. Tribal activist Dayamani Barla, known for her opposition to land acquisition for industrial projects, has been named for Khunti. Other candidates are: Mithilesh Kumar Dangi (Hazaribagh), Kumari Seema Chandravashi (Chatra), Kishundhari Ram (Palamau), Vijay Chaurasia (Koderma), Surjit Singh (Giridih) and Amanullah Aman (Ranchi). “I haven't seen the full list as I was busy in Khunti, but I have come to know about my candidature,” said a beaming Barla.

Star show

Hazaribagh: Bollywood stars Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar are likely to campaign for sitting MP Yashwant Sinha’s son Jayant Sinha, who has been fielded by the BJP from Hazaribagh this time. Apart from Sonakshi and Akshay, Smriti Irani and Kirron Kher may also be roped in. “The star campaigners’ names have not been finalised yet, but some famous faces, including Bollywood actors, are on our list,” said district president of BJP Tunnu Gope. Sonakshi’s father Shatrughan Sinha is very close to Yashwant Sinha and had campaigned for him in the 2004 and 2009 elections.
