Khurai, Rising win titles

Imphal, March 12: Khurai Polo Club lifted the winnerís trophy in the menís 24th Governorís Cup Invitation Polo Tournament. Imphal Rising Club emerged champions of the 13th Governorís Cup Womenís Polo Tournament today.

The tournaments were organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung in Imphal city.

Khurai defeated Manipur Police Sports Club (B) by 4-2 goals in a nail-biting final.

T. Ojit of Khurai scored three goals in the first and third chukkers while teammate L. Thomson scored one goal in the second chukker.

For Manipur police, T. Pradipkumar scored two goals in the first and third chukkers. The fourth chukker remained goalless.

In the womenís final, Imphal Rising Club thrashed Eastern Students Club 8-0.

Kh. Have scored four goals in the first, second and third chukker.

A. Romabati scored three goals in the first and second chukkers while S. Sunita scored one goal in the third cukker. The fourth chukker remained goalless.

Governor V.K. Duggal distributed the prizes to the winners.
