PU meet focus on repair

Key decisions such as filling up of vacant posts through outsourcing and repair of college buildings and hostels would be the agenda of the Patna University annual budget-cum-senate meeting scheduled on Wednesday.

The Patna University (PU) meet assumes importance, as this would be the first one presided by the varsity’s new vice-chancellor (VC) Y.C. Simhadri and pro-VC Ranjeet Kumar Verma.

“Repair and renovation of college buildings and hostels would be the main agenda of Wednesday’s budget-cum-senate meeting,” said Pro VC Verma. The varsity administration is planning to outsource the employees from an external agency to tide over the manpower crunch. Decisions would be taken on filling up of Grade III and IV posts and technical positions through outsourcing.

According to sources, the administration is likely to get approval for a few new courses, including a separate statistics department at Patna College and two new programmes at Patna Women’s College.
