Tiddim beat North Eastern

Imphal, March 10: Tiddim Road Athletics Union defeated North Eastern Reorganising Cultural Association by a solitary goal in the first round of the L. Bheigyachandra Memorial State-Level Invitation Football tournament at Thangmieband Athletics Union ground here today.

Top teams of state league are participating in the tournament, which is organised by Imphal West District Football Association.

Both teams fought hard in the first half to take the lead.

However, they could not convert their efforts into a goal. The first half remained goalless.

In the second half, Th. Premkumar of Tiddim Road collected a beautiful pass from teammate N. Momocha and scored the winning goal in the 65th minute.

North Eastern tried hard to level scores but the strong defence line of Tiddim Road foiled the attempts.

N. Momocha of Tiddim Roads was cautioned in the 38th minute while Kh. Sanjay of North Eastern was cautioned in the 27th minute.
