Jaipur, March 5: Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav is set to contest the Lok Sabha polls, reports our correspondent.

Congress spokesperson Archana Sharma said: “Vaibhav Gehlot, who has been active in the Youth Congress for quite some time, would in all probability be given the ticket from Jalore-Sirohi constituency.”

Mumbai: The BJP has assured Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray that it would not make overtures to either Raj Thackeray or Sharad Pawar, reports our special correspondent.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has sought the response of the Centre and the Election Commission on a PIL asking for a bar on candidates contesting from more than one seat, reports our legal correspondent. The court, however, did not give an interim order, saying it was too late.

Chavan move

Mumbai: Former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan, indicted by the judicial commission probing the Adarsh scam, on Wednesday made a surprise appearance on Rahul Gandhi’s stage at a rally in Aurangabad and gifted him a bouquet. Chavan is lobbying with the party to field his wife Ameeta from Nanded if it chooses not to nominate him.

Rahul is on a two-day tour of Maharashtra. Chavan sat on the dais as Rahul held forth on corruption.
