School locked

Jaigaon, March 3: Around 400 students of a residential school in Nagrakata today locked up the institution demanding removal of the principal who allegedly beat up two students on Friday.

The school run by the backward classes welfare department is in Jalpaiguri district.

On Friday, the principal allegedly beat up two Class VIII boys and a Class IX student was thrashed by three teachers. On Saturday, parents of the students lodged police complaints. Today, the students submitted a memorandum to the district magistrate demanding removal of the principal.
