City boys win title

Guwahati, Feb. 21: City Cricket Coaching Centre emerged champion in the 2nd Inter-Cricket Coaching Centre Cricket Tournament, registering a four-wicket victory over Bud Cricket Club at the Janata Bhawan parade ground here today.

Electing to bat, Bud Cricket Club put up 151 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their stipulated 30 overs. Moni Karma Sarma topscored with an unbeaten knock of 53 runs off 35 deliveries while Himjyoti Sarma contributed 28 runs off 46 balls. Elvis Hazarika and Anuj Bhujel scalped two wickets each.

In reply, City batsmen got past the target losing six wickets in 29 overs. Rohan Hazarika scored 44 runs off 60 balls while Kamle Alam chipped in with 42 runs off 35 deliveries. Moni Karma Sarma scalped three wickets for 31 runs in five overs while Vaishal Padal picked up one wicket for eight runs in two overs.

Rohan Hazarika was named Man of the Final while Akash Maurya of City Cricket Coaching Centre bagged the Man of the Series honour.
