Cachar Road defeat Youth club

Imphal, Feb. 12: Bimol Singh’s three-wicket haul and 25 runs with the bat helped Cachar Road Athletic Union defeat Youth Welfare Club Patsoi by12 runs in the first MCA Plate Tournament 2013-14 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground.

Cachar Road got a solid start with Bimol Singh and Seitajit Singh scoring 25 runs each and Amitkumar Singh scored 20 runs to put up 110 runs losing 10 wickets in 30 overs.

Nivas Singh was the most successful bowler for Youth Welfare Club, claiming four wickets while teammate Priyobrata Singh picked up two wickets.

Youth Welfare Club struggled with the bat and were restricted to 98 runs losing 10 wicket in 29.1 overs. Shitaljit Singh was the highest scorer with 25 runs and Nikol Singh chipped in with 16 runs.

Bimol Singh bagged three wickets and was adjudged the Man of the Match while teammate Bode Singh got two wickets for Cachar Road.

PCC Mayai Koibi will take on Eastern Sporting Union tomorrow.

Body-building: The All Manipur Gymnasium Welfare Association has selected 34 body-builders for the fourth Junior/Masters/Physically Challenged National Bodybuilding Championship, 2014 to be held at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium from February 14-16.
