Cyclone lift trophy

Imphal, Feb. 11: Cyclone Cricket Club, Thangmeiband, lifted the championís title today beating NAPSA Kha, Imphal, by six wickets in the 11th Manipur Veteranís Cricket Championship played at Langthabal public ground.

Batting first, NAPSA were bundled out for 94 runs in 31.2 overs. Cyclone reached the target in 16.4 overs losing four wickets.

H. Arun of Cyclone was adjudged Man of the Match, while T. Bhogen Singh of NAPSA won the Man of the Series award. Cyclone pocketed Rs 10,000, while NAPSA got Rs 7,000.

MCA plate cricket: Model Club beat Thangmeiband Athletic Union by 84 runs in the first MCA plate tournament played at Luwangpokpa cricket ground. Model Club posted 185 runs for seven wickets in 35 overs. In reply, Thangmeiband were bundled out for 101. Model bowler Lenin grabbed a hattrick, while Iboyaima Singh won the Man of the Match award for his three-wicket haul.

Sepak takraw: The first YSSU state-level Menís Open Trophy Cash Prize Sepak Takraw Championship will begin tomorrow at Sagolband Nepra Menjor in Imphal West.
