Maharana thrash Lakshmibai

Guwahati, Feb. 9: Maharana Athletic Club thrashed Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education by 145 runs in the match of the Servo 21st Guwahati Challenge Trophy All-Assam Cricket Tournament at Judges Field here today.

Electing to bat, Maharana piled up a competitive total of 250 runs for seven wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. Ranjit Changmai topscored with an unbeaten 45 runs, while Rajjakuddin Ahmed and Roshan Alam contributed 38 and 30 runs respectively. Jamal Mehtab and Abhijit Das picked up three wickets each while Krishna Sut got one.

In reply, LNIPE boys were bundled out for 105 runs in 30.5 overs. Jiban Barman scored 39 runs, while Sailesh Kr Singh and Bhargav Sharma scored 18 and 13 runs respectively. Spinner Bikram Chetry picked up four wickets for 21, while Roshan Alam and Imtiaz Hussain picked up three and two wickets respectively.

Hosts River Rine Club will play Youth Club, Dispur, in tomorrow’s match.
