Imphal, Feb. 6: Western Cricket Association pulled off a 79-run victory against PCC Mayai Koibi in the first MCA Plate Group League 2013-14 match at Luwangpokpa cricket ground today.

Bronson Singh led the Western Cricket Association innings with 37 runs while teammates Prasanta Singh with 24 runs and Premjit Singh with 23 runs were major contributors, to pile up 165 runs losing all wickets in 35 overs.

Ranjan Singh was the pick of the PCC bowlers as he bagged three wickets while Shankar Singh bagged two wickets and Rohit Singh bagged up one wicket.

PCC batsman Johnson Singh’s defiant knock of 45 runs went in vain as his team was bundled out for a mere 86 runs losing all wickets in 23 overs. Western pacers Dev and Ishworchandra created havoc claiming three wickets each while Nanao Singh fetched two wickets for the victory. Western batsman Bronson Singh was adjudged the Man of the Match. In tomorrow’s match, Youth Welfare Club, Patsoi will meet Force Khetrigao.

Veteran Cricket: NAPSA Nambul Mapal defeated Model Club by 31 runs to move into the final of the eleventh Manipur Veteran Cricket Championship at Langthabal public ground today.
