Swarupam ban lifted

Guwahati, Feb 3: The Assam Cricket Association has withdrawn the suspension of state Ranji player Swarupam Purkayastha.

ACA vice-president and chairman of the disciplinary committee Brajen Gohain told The Telegraph that the committee considered his plea for review of the ban issued on October 12, 2012 and decided to lift it, keeping in view his subsequent conduct. The 24-year-old was suspended on charges of indiscipline during a selection trial camp of the Assam A (under-25) team at Silchar.

Purkayastha had sought the review.
