City thrash Ankurjyoti

Guwahati, Feb. 2: City Cricket Coaching Centre registered a thumping 141-run victory over Ankurjyoti Cricket Academy in the inaugural match of the 2nd Inter-Cricket Coaching Centre under-14 cricket tournament organised by the Guwahati Sports Association at Janata Bhawan parade ground here today.

Batting first, the City batsmen piled up a mammoth 233 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. Akash Maurya top scored with an unbeaten 94 runs off 67 deliveries while Gyalchal Lama chipped in with 45 runs. Lobo Kumar picked up three wickets for 18 runs.

In reply, Ankurjyoti were bundled out for a paltry 92 runs in 21.2 overs. Sujoy Sutradhar remained not out with 24 runs off 25 balls, while Bivan Ahmed scored 15 runs. Prayas Das picked up three wickets conceding 19 runs in his five overs while Purvajyoti Lahkar scalped two wickets.

Gauhati Town Club Cricket Academy will play River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre in tomorrow’s match.
