News Live, Pratidin in final

Guwahati, Jan. 30: News Live got the better of The Assam Tribune by six wickets to enter the final of the Media Cricket Tournament at Judges Field here today.

In the second semi-final, put in to bat, The Assam Tribune batsmen put up a modest total of 117 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

Utpal Karmakar scored 34 runs off 22 balls while Ratul Deka chipped in with 21 runs off 20 deliveries. Amoresh Singha contributed 20 runs off 31 deliveries. Pranjal Phukan, Anupam Mahanta and Navajyoti Gohain bagged two wickets each.

In reply, News Live eased past the target, losing four wickets in 14.4 overs.

Anupam Mahanta topscored with an unbeaten 39 runs off 19 deliveries while Pranjal Sarma contributed 28 runs off 23 balls. Bhaskar Hazarika was the other notable contributor with 24 runs off 25 deliveries. Amoresh Singha, Bubul Sinha and Lohit Gohain picked up one wicket each.

News Live will lock horns with Asomiya Pratidin in the final on Saturday.
