Khurai club enter semi-finals

Imphal, Jan. 24: Khurai Polo Club rode gallantly into the semi-finals, defeating Nambul Mapal Polo Club (A) by 5-2 goals in the 29th N. Hazari and N. Tombi State Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

Khurai Polo Club got their first goal through P. Ojit Singh at 1.32 minutes but Nambul Mapal team fought back with S. Girimohom fetching the equaliser in the 4.51th minute in the first chukker. In the second chukker, Khurai Polo Club turned the tables with P. Ojit Singh unleashing his fury, striking three goals and K. Jugindro Singh fetched one goal each to post a 5-1 lead.

Nambul Mapal got their second goal with I. Sachindra scoring in the fourth chukker but too late to save the game.

In another quarter final, Manipur Police Sports Club (A) drubbed MeirabaPolo Club (A) by 11-2 goals to sail into the semi-final as well.
