Shillong, Jan. 20: A delegation of political leaders, under the banner of the North East Regional Parties’ Front, reached New Delhi today to bring to the Centre’s notice an alleged nexus between Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma and a militant outfit.

From Meghalaya the UDP, which is part of the Front, deputed legislators Jemino Mawthoh and T.W. Chyne to be part of the delegation.

The team is expected to meet President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and that in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, and apprise them of the issue.

Chyne said leaders of the forum from states including Assam, Mizoram and Nagaland had landed in New Delhi.
