Youth meet at Cotton College

Guwahati, Jan. 17: An NGO here will hold a three-day youth convention to find development-based initiatives in the Northeast at Cotton College from January 21.

Foundation for Social Transformation will organise the North East Youth Convention at Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Hall and Talimeran Ao indoor stadium of Cotton College.

There will be interactions, film screenings, talks and discussions on the lives of youths of the Northeast during the convention.

The event will begin with a Manipuri drum performance on January 21 followed by a panel discussion on Today’s Society and the Role of Youth.

Other activities include talks, film and documentary screenings and PowerPoint presentations by the participants and cultural programme in the evening.

The second day will include programmes like Naga dance followed by a panel discussion on Youth Leadership: Potential, Opportunities and Challenges in North East India.

There will be a panel discussion on Career for Youths: New Age, New Opportunities on the concluding day.

“We are a gender-just, apolitical indigenous philanthropic organisation that is led by people from the region, which supports the development-based initiatives in the Northeast,” said Gayatri Buragohain, the executive director of the group.
