Canchipur triumph

Imphal, Jan. 15: KFC Canchipur edged past RDD Wangkhei by 3-1 goals to claim the championís title of the fifth M. Rabichandra Singh seven-a-side Football Tournament at Kiyamgei today.

The KFC team proved themselves in the 22nd minute with Pitler Singh ruffling the net for the early lead.

RDD Wangkhei paced up the game and A. Raj fetched the equaliser just before the first half whistle in the 30th minute to level scores 1-1.

KFC Canchipur accelerated in the second half as Roshan Singh got his teamís second goal in the 39th minute and later Jolly scored in the 41st minute to post a 3-1 goal victory for the championís title. KFC player Pitler and RDD Wangkhei player A. Raj were shown a yellow card in the match. RDD Wangkhei got the Best Goalkeeper title.

Gouro of AAA Kongpal got the Best Player title while Pitler of KFC Canchipur was the Man of the Match.

Transfer window

The All-Manipur Football Association has informed that the second window of the inter-state transfer will be held from January 16 to February 15 with a limit of one transfer per player in the same season.

The application forms will be available from tomorrow.

Polo meet

The Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association will be holding the 29th N. Hazari and Tombi state level polo tournament from January 17 at Mapal Kangjeibung in Imphal. The Manipur Equestrian Association will also be organising the 11th DG Assam Rifles Cup State Equestrian Championship from February 1-4.
