BJP eyes the sky this time

The BJP is planning to fly high this Makar Sankranti, the traditional kite festival, and paint the sky saffron.

The party has ordered over 5,000 kites with pictures of Narendra Modi from Ahmedabad, apparently to capture people’s imagination as well as Jharkhand’s political firmament. And to enjoy a smooth flight, the party is planning to celebrate the beginning of northward movement of the sun on Wednesday, a day after people in general observe the occasion.

“We follow the Hindu panchang according to which it should be celebrated on Wednesday. We have a big plan for the occasion,” senior BJP leader Sanjay Seth said.

He added that the party would organise a kite festival at Argora grounds where thousands of kites with Modi’s pictures and NaMo mantra would occupy the sky.

“Yoga guru Baba Ramdev will inaugurate the event,” Seth claimed.

Also, the BJP has a plan to launch a 40-second-long NaMo ring tone, which Seth claimed, would go viral within a day.

Insiders said just like the “NaMo tea stall” that had become a hit across the country, the party would look for more opportunities to spread the Modi magic.
