Hotel occupancy

The Jamshedpur circle of commercial taxes department along with Jamshedpur Hoteliers’ Association recently organised a seminar on online filing of daily occupancy report, a move made mandatory by the state to beef up security. Tata Consultancy Services — which has been roped in to devise a software that enables each hotel to log in with a unique ID and password — also made a presentation on how hotels should file their daily online occupancy report. Jamshedpur Hoteliers’ Association president Prabhakar Singh, joint commissioner of commercial taxes Ranjan Sinha and deputy commissioner of the department’s urban circle P.K. Sinha were present at the meet. Auto cluster lab

The hi-tech laboratory, part of the ambitious Rs 65-crore Adityapur Auto Cluster Limited (AACL), Seraikela-Kharsawan, will be made operational at the start of the financial year 2014-15. Officials of the AACL said orders had been placed for procuring sophisticated equipment to be installed in the laboratory to develop designs to cater to auto component units at Adityapur, the state’s largest industrial hub. The hi-tech laboratory, with R&D and benchmarking centre, has been built with an investment of around Rs 40 crore. The cluster falls under the aegis of Union ministry of commerce and industry
