Itís New Year, a time to revel

Bollywood fashion party at Events, Hotel Ginger in Guwahati

The most happening parties are always crowd-pullers. And when itís the festive season, especially on New Yearís eve, there is no stopping the merry-makers.

In Guwahati, a good crowd assembled at Hotel Ginger to enjoy the Bollywood Fashion Party, 2014 and the NYE 2014 at Rudraksh Resort in Sonapur, on the outskirts of the city.

While Bollywood Fashion Party, 2014 was presented by Tarun Arora Entertainment in association with t2, NYE 2014 was presented by Castle Hill, also in association with t2.

Bollywood Fashion Party, 2014 turned out to be a rocking gala, especially for the kids, who walked the ramp and posed for photographs as models.

The children found the most amusing companions on stage, in the form of people dressed as cartoon characters.

The adults, too, were not disappointed. While many sang their favourite numbers in a karaoke competition, a lucky couple among the audience also walked away with the title of Mr and Mrs Bollywood.

ďCouples were chosen to walk on the ramp and the best was adjudged Mr and Mrs Bollywood. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the fashion show,Ē said Sumit Beria of Tarun Arora Entertainment.

At Rudraksh Resort, people welcomed the New Year amid popular Bollywood and electronic dance music.

While on the one hand people could be seen matching their steps with Hindi numbers, others rocked to the electronic dance music by Zen Station from the Netherlands.

Up in the clouds

For party lovers in Shillong, New Yearís eve at Cloud 9 in Hotel Centrepoint marked a perfect ending to the preceding year and a pulsating beginning to 2014. This party, too, was organised by t2.

The entire ambience of the evening was symptomatic of the desire to revel. The venue pulsated with the sound of music played by artiste SEQUEL, accompanied by DJ Larry on the warm-up set. The dance floor was chock-a-block with residents and visitors who wished to ring in the New Year in style.

The venue was graced by Miss Shillong 2013, Suman Lyngdoh, who mingled with the young crowd for a while and grooved to the music.

The guests were lucky too: apart from enjoying the show over the varied drinks being served, they also received gifts from the hosts. Quite the ideal way to say Happy New Year!
