Kokrajhar bandh peaceful

Kokrajhar, June 15: The 36-hour Kokrajhar district bandh called by the Undivided Goalpara District Indo-Mongolian Youth Front passed off peacefully till 5pm today.

The bandh was called to protest against the alleged fake encounter killing of an NDFB cadre, B. Rafwt alias Risto, 25, at Bhutiapara under Dotma police station in Kokrajhar on Monday.

The bandh paralysed normal life with business establishment, markets and shops remaining closed throughout the day. Surface transport was affected with public vehicles remaining off the road. Most offices also remained closed.

No untoward incident was report from any part of the district during the bandh.
