Cyclone hits Yaiskul

Imphl, Feb. 27: Cylone Cricket Club posted a seven-wicket win over Yaiskul Athletic Club in the MCA Elite Cricket League 2012-13 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium today.

Yaiskul Athletic opted to bat and piled up 103 runs with Kishan Singh topscoring with 41 runs. Bhogen Singh with 22 runs and Seitajit Singh with 10 runs were the other major contributors. Cylone bowler Homendro Singh claimed five wickets.

In reply, Cyclone reached the target in 25.3 overs, losing three wickets in the process. Shashikumar Singh with 36 runs and Roben Singh with 15 runs, remained unbeaten till the end. Among the Yaiskul bowlers, Surjit Singh, Kishan Singh and Sanjit Singh claimed a wicket each.

In another match, YWC Langthabal registered a 38-run victory against Tiddim Road Athletic Union at Khuman Lampak sports complex. YWC batted first to put up 144 runs for 10 wickets from 21.4 overs with K. Athoi contributing 43 runs. In reply, Tiddim Road were bundled out for 106 in 17.3 overs. YWC bowler Rohit Singh claimed five wickets while teammates K. Athoi picked up three wickets to claim the Man of the Match award.
