Blue Hawk soar high

Imphal, Feb. 25: Robert Roy’s solid 44-run knock helped Blue Hawk post a four-wicket victory against Uripok Cricket Club in the MCA Elite League 2013 at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium today.

Leading the charge, Robert struck 44 runs from 49 deliveries while teammates Sultan with 19 runs, N. Jackychand with 11 runs and W. Samson with 10 runs surpassed the target 128 runs for the victory. Earlier, Uripok Cricket Club decided to bat after winning the toss and managed to pile up 128 runs for 10 wickets from 37.2 overs with Ashwini remaining not out with 21 runs.

Their opponents, Blue Hawk, reached the target in 28 overs losing six wickets in the process. Sultan was the pick of the bowlers as he captured four wickets of Uripok Cricket Club and bagged the Man of the Match award.

BCCI observer

Tinsukia District Sports Association general secretary Achhyut Borthakur has been appointed BCCI observer for the second Test between India and Australia at Hyderabad scheduled from March 2 to 6. Borthakur will have to report for the assignment on February 28, writes our staff reporter from Guwahati.
