Guwahati meet Nagaon

Guwahati, Feb. 20: Guwahati will meet Nagaon in the final of the Amarjit Sarma Trophy inter-district (under-15) cricket tournament at North Lakhimpur College ground tomorrow.

Guwahati today got the better of Bokakhat by 49 runs in the second semi-final.

Put in to bat, they rode a half-century by Akshay Naraine to pose 167 for seven in the 40 overs.

In reply, Bokakhat were all out for 118 in 31.4 overs.

Naraine topscored for Guwahati with a steady 53. Bikash Patel of Bokakhat scalped three wickets for 30 runs.

Patel also scored 26 runs while teammate Ikram Arjan contributed 33 to be the only other notable scorer for the side. Riyan Parag was the Guwahati demolition boy who returned with the figures of four for 22.

On Tuesday, Nagaon made it to the final, beating Barpeta by 75 runs in the first semi-final. Nagaon elected to bat first to post 128 for nine in 40 overs. Chasing the modest target, Barpeta were skittled out for 53.
