Manipur cops & Tekcham in semis

Imphal, Feb. 15: Manipur Police Sports Club (B) and Tekcham Polo Club (A) sailed into the semi-final of the 28th N. Hazari and Dr N. Tombi state polo tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung in Imphal today.

In the first quarter-final, Manipur Police Sports Club (B) defeated Imphal Riding Club by 10-3 goals.

For Manipur Police, S. Abungcha scored four goals while H. Abungkhuman and T. Pradipkumar scored two goals each. S. Viking and Th. Romesh scored a goal each.

For Imphal Riding, S. Girimohon, L. Romeo and N. Ranjan scored a goal each.

In the second quarter-final, Tekcham Polo Club (C) defeated Chingkheihunba Polo Club (C) by 6-2 goals.

M. Doren scored three goals, P. Ojit scored two and S. Sadananda made one for Tekcham.

For Chingkheihunba, Kh. Kaoba and S. Bronson scored a goal each.

Under-14 hockey: Charangpat Development Organisation defeated Khongman Students Club 17-1 in the under-14 state-level hockey tournament at Khuman Lampak hockey stadium here today.

For Charangpat, P. Monish and L. Dinesh scored four goals each. L. Depu scored three goals, S. Aton and S. Badal scored two each, while S. Nanao and W. Manikanta scored one each.

For Khongman, S. Premjit Singh scored the lone goal.
