Norm for new EPFO members

New Delhi, Jan. 23: New members joining the EPFO’s retirement fund scheme will have to mandatorily furnish Aadhaar number as KYC (Know Your Customer) credential for enrolment from March 1. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation’s (EPFO) existing over 50 million subscribers will be given time to furnish the Aadhar numbers. In case any employee does not have the issued Aadhaar number, the employer can issue an Enrolment ID, according to the guidelines of the body.

Growth show

Washington, Jan. 23: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) today pegged India’s economic growth rate in 2013 at 5.9 per cent and projected a higher growth of 6.4 per cent next year in line with the gradual strengthening of global expansion.

Vodafone case

New Delhi, Jan. 23: Telecom tribunal TDSAT today adjourned the hearing till Monday on a plea of Vodafone seeking interim relief on the levy of one-time spectrum fee by the government.

FDI inflows

New Delhi, Jan. 23: India’s foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows declined to a nearly two-year low of $1.05 billion in November 2012 on global economic uncertainties. In November 2011, the country had attracted FDI worth $2.53 billion.

Uco Bank

New Delhi, Jan. 23: Uco Bank will get Rs 681 crore as part of the government’s capital infusion plan for this fiscal. The board has approved the proposal for the issue of equity shares on preferential basis in favour of the Government of India.
