Bud, Navajyoti to clash in final

Guwahati, Jan. 18: Bud Cricket Club today rode centuries by Ranji players Tarjinder Singh and Gokul Sharma to register a 187-run victory against River Rine Club in the second semi-final of the Ramesh Barooah Trophy invitation cricket tournament, organised by Gauhati Town Club at Judges Field. Bud will meet Navajyoti Club in the final tomorrow.

Put to bat, Bud piled up a mammoth total of 307 for four in 40 overs and River Rine were bundled out for 120 in 28.4 overs. Singh topscored for Bud with 122 off 83 balls, hammering 11 hits to the ropes and four sixes. Sharma scored 100 off 79 balls, laced with a dozen boundaries.

Rishav Das (39) and Mukut Kalita (24) were the other main scorers for the side.

Navajit Kaushik of Navajyoti claimed two wickets conceding 51 runs and Tyatullah Humani and Abir Chakraborty picked up one each.

For River Rine, Raj Thapa scored 50 and 22 runs came off the bat of Bikash Singh.

Ranji player Amit Sinha accounted for three dismissals for six runs and another Ranji player, Arup Das, and Singh bagged two each for five and 29 respectively.
