Panthoibi beat Pharmach

Imphal, Dec. 31: Panthoibi Youth Football Club defeated Pharmach Football Club by 5-1 goals in the league round match of the 4th state-level M. Rabichandra Memorial Football Tournament at Kyamgei High School ground in Imphal East today.

The tournament is organised by M. Rabichandra Trust.

It was a one-sided match as Panthoibi dominated the game. Ashok scored the first goal for the winning team in the second minute. Cruz scored two goals in the 29th and 55th minutes. Somochandra scored one goal in the 17th minute while Singba scored the fifth goal in the 57th minute.

The lone goal for Pharmach was scored by Kishan in the 50th minute. Anilkumar of Panthoibi was cautioned in the 53rd minute.

In the second league match, John Club defeated Semgat Sagatpa Apunba Naharol 8-1. H. Herojit of John Club was the hero as he scored five goals in the 22nd, 24th, 42nd, 44th and 53rd minutes.

Other teammates, K. Rajen (27th minute), I. Ibungo (32nd minute) and Ch. Kishan (29th minute) scored a goal each. For Semgat Sagatpa, Y. Nabaratan scored the lone goal in the 29th minute.
