Billy & Bette

Los Angeles, Dec. 25 (AP): After nearly 30 years of friendship and shared tastes in movies, music and comedy, Billy Crystal and Bette Midler have finally taken it to the next level: They did a film together.

The two veteran entertainers first met on the comedy circuit, but never actually worked together until Parental Guidance.

Crystal and Midler share the screen for the first time in the family film, playing a married couple who bumble their way along to bonding with their grandchildren. Marisa Tomei stars as their Type-A daughter.

Hot Hobbit

Los Angeles (AP): The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey easily defended its box-office title in North America, remaining the No. 1 film for a second weekend with $36.9 million. A rush of newcomers mostly had modest openings, led by Tom Cruise’s action tale Jack Reacher at No. 2 with $15.6 million.

Sad Demi

Los Angeles (PTI): Actress Demi Moore’s friends worry that she is going to relapse and end up back in rehab as she spends another “sad and lonely” holiday alone. The 50-year-old, who checked into rehab shortly after last year’s holiday, has been in news for her erratic behaviour at outings with friends.

Klum, Seal

London (PTI): Soul singer Seal and his estranged wife Heidi Klum have reportedly put their differences aside over the holidays and will spend Christmas together for the sake of their children. The German supermodel separated from the singer last January after almost seven years of marriage and filed for divorce in April. They have three children together, and the singer also adopted Klum’s eldest daughter, Leni.

Tom fear

London (PTI): Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is reportedly worried that he will die of cancer like his father. “Tom turned 50 in July, and that's a year older than the age his dad died. With a young daughter to worry about, he has to be thinking about his mortality,” a source said. Cruise’s dad Thomas Mapother III died of metastatic rectal carcinoma.
