Navarang enter semis

Guwahati, Dec. 16: Navarang Club today marched into the semi-finals of the Ratanlal Singhania and Mohini Devi Singhania Trophy Ankurjyoti Challenge Trophy defeating Naharkatia Cricket Association by seven wickets in the fourth quarterfinal at Judges Field here.

The Naharkatia boys, who elected to bat first, were skittled out for a paltry 64 in 22.3 overs. The home side reached 65 for three in 11.3 overs. Rahul Deb topscored for the Naharkatia with 26 runs (4x3), with Ajay Singh and Ajay Sah chipping in with 12 and 10. Roshan Basfore of Navarang scalped three wickets for 24 runs. For Navarang, Neeraj Tiwari remained unbeaten on 26 (4x5) along with Jnan Boro on 18 (4x4) at the other end. Suraj Chaturvedi of Naharkatia picked up two wickets for 16 runs.

Navarang Club will meet Navajyoti Club in the first semi-final tomorrow.
