Calcutta: Mohun Bagan’s Syed Rahim Nabi was discharged from the hospital on Thursday.
Nabi had underwent a surgery for a fractured cheekbone after being hit by a stone during Sunday’s violence-marred I-League Derby against East Bengal.
“He will be out of action for six weeks, he has been advised complete rest,” Bagan secretary Anjan Mitra said.
Meanwhile, Bagan coach Karim Bencharifa will leave for Morocco on Friday evening because of visa problems. In Karim’s visa, his work permit is mentioned as the head coach of Salgaocar and he will need to travel back to his country to correct the anomaly.
Karim will return to the city next Thursday. In his absence, assistant coach Mridul Banerjee will take charge during Bagan’s CFL match against Mohammedan Sporting.
Karim informed that Australian striker Tolgay Ozebe, who is nursing a knee injury, might return to action against Mohammedan Sporting.
“He is recovering well. We might field him against Mohammedan Sporting,” Karim said after the team’s practice session at the club ground on Thursday.
