Barbecue by the Hyatt pool

If you want to enjoy the winter air, what better way to do it than with a barbecue? Hyatt Regency has exactly that in store — BBQ by the Pool.

“Everyone wants to enjoy the winter air, and the poolside is very pleasant during the season, hence the idea to open it for guests now,” said Dinesh Varma, director, F&B.

Find on the menu a hearty fare of grilled goodies, fresh salads and a good choice of tipple.

Think juicy tenderloin, thick pork sausages and if you are a white meat fan there’s chicken, plus some fish and calamari. Too meaty for you? Go for a healthy dose of grilled veggies, including aubergine, mushroom and chunky slices of zucchini. And if slimming down for the Christmas season is on your mind, there are enough fresh greens to make a salad too! Of course, we’d say ditch the diet and pile on the croutons and bits of bacon with the lettuce slathered in mayo or cream-based dressings (if not, there are delicate vinaigrettes too).

The poolside barbecue will be held once a month through winter (mark your calendar: December 21, January 11, February 8). The poolside will also be open as a lounge twice a week Wednesdays and Fridays. There will be familiar retro music, snacks and, hic!, unlimited alcohol.

BBQ by the Pool and poolside lounge is priced at Rs 999 (plus taxes) and for the ladies the special “lounging “ rate is Rs 499 (plus taxes).
