Milk export ban lifted

New Delhi, Nov. 23: The government has lifted export ban on some milk products, including whole milk powder and dairy whitener, because of surplus availability. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has notified the lifting of ban on export of milk and cream, concentrated or containing added sugar or other sweetening matter, including whole milk powder, dairy whitener and infant milk foods. The notification followed the decision on the issue by the cabinet committee on economic affairs earlier this month.

Rupee outlook

New Delhi, Nov. 23: The rupee is likely to witness high volatility in the coming months with the Parliament session beginning with a “whimper” amid a looming political logjam, which makes the outlook for the reform process seem “cloudy”, an HSBC report says.

Sebi move

Mumbai, Nov. 23: Sebi will soon announce measures to protect investors against stock crashes on the bourses. Last month, the NSE witnessed a flash crash, when Emkay Global Financial Services sent the exchange index tumbling as much as 15.5 per cent in just a few seconds.

ONGC well

New Delhi, Nov. 23: ONGC’s Krishna-Godavari basin well, which has been leaking natural gas for over two months now, has stopped flowing gas, the government said.

New Delhi, Nov. 23: Hero MotoCorp today said it would start exporting two-wheelers to Africa and Latin America before the end of this fiscal to expand its global footprint.
