Manipur university bags menís title

Imphal, Nov. 8: Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Chhattisgarh, emerged champions in the womenís category and Manipur University won the menís championship title in the inter-university handball championship organised by Manipur University here today. The Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University girls won all their matches.

Manipur University emerged runners-up in the womenís competition. The team defeated Vir Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University and Calcutta University.

Menís champions Manipur University won all the three matches, defeating Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Uttar Pradesh, Vir Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University and Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University. Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith were the runners-up.

Lajong in Goa: Shillong Lajong FC arrived in Goa yesterday for their first away match of the I-League. They will face defending champions Dempo SC on Saturday at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa.
