Langsning beat Green Valley

Nagaon, Oct. 10: Langsning Football Club, Shillong entered the semi-final of 64th ID Cup football tournament defeating Green Valley Sports Club, Guwahati by 4-3 in the second quarter-final match at Nagaon Sports Associationís Nurul Amin Stadium here today.

Striker Yinka Joel Sunday Ayeni scored the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute.

But the star performer of the game was Langsning midfielder Denial D. Ayeni, who scored a hattrick for the Shillong team.

He scored the goals in the 25th, 40th and 77th minutes of the match.

Green Valley striker Chayaram Basumatary scored the first goal for the Guwahati team in the 38th minute, while Amal Baro scored the second and third goal for the team in the 83rd and 91st minute.

Stadium ritual: The Assam Cricket Association will organise a day-long religious ritual as a part of the inaugural ceremony of its new cricket stadium at Barsapara ground here on Sunday.

The rituals include pujas and a Milad (Islamic prayer meet) the same day.

Lajong timing: Shillong Lajong FC has preponed the match timing for their home matches in the I-League to be held at Shillong. The new time has been fixed for 2.30 pm instead of the earlier timing of 2.45 pm.
