Bright and early on a Thursday morning, you would think people were heading to work. But with the pre-Puja and Diwali shopping season here, hordes of shoppers made a beeline for Cherry Orchard, in association with t2. Held at Taj Bengal, 55 stalls took over the three banquet halls with products ranging from apparel to accessories.
“We cherry-pick each label that exhibits. This edition, LFW debutantes and other famous names like Zubair Kirmani, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna showcased,” said Shradha Saraf, who along with friend Shilpi Goenka, launched Cherry Orchard five years ago.
Missing in action? Food corners and activity stalls. “A month-and-a-half prior to the exhibition, we were fully booked with apparel and jewellery stalls, we had no place for anything else!” said the duo. But for the hungry tide of serious shoppers, a promotional lunch meal at discounted prices was organised at Souk.
The footfall clocked at the end of the day? An astounding 3,500.
