Youth win close tie

Imphal, July 15: Youth Organisation Sporting Club started their campaign on a winning note defeating Youth Welfare Club by a solitary goal in the Imphal East Super Division Football League Tournament, which got under way today at Khuman Lampak sports complex.

Youth Organisation set the tone, dominating the game right from the beginning but were unable to ruffle the net in the first half.

They could have had their moment in the sixth minute off a penalty kick by R.S. Raisomi but was saved by Youth Welfare keeper Z.B. Peckson diving to his right.

In the second half, Youth Organisation raised the tempo and Gangmei Paulinmei scored the first and only goal of the match in the 48th minute.

Course: The AIFF named two referees, Chim Chim Serto and T. Ranjita Chanu, for a women’s refereeing course during October/November 2012. Officials of All Manipur Football Association will hold a fitness test on July 22.
