Drive against tinted glasses

Shillong, May 15: Meghalaya police today carried out a drive here to ensure that the Supreme Courtís ban on the use of tinted glasses in vehicles were adhered to.

The police removed tinted glasses from 1,142 vehicles ó 533 under Sadar police station and 259, 150 and 200 vehicles under Lumdiengiri, Madanriting and Laitumkharh police stations. They said the drive would continue and violators would be penalised under Rules 92 and 100 of the Central Motor Vehicle Act.
