Bangalore address for final case study tussle

- Two management students from Cybotech Campus make it to last round of national contest

Two students from Cybotech Campus, Patna, would participate in Vidyadeep Case Study Contest, an event organised by Sikkim Manipal University.

Sunny Pallavi, a student of BBA sixth semester, and Neha a BBA fourth semester student — have qualified for the event after clearing the zonal round held in Calcutta on April 29. Around 400 students from eastern India had participated in the event.

Abhijeet Kumar, the vice-president of Cybotech Campus, while addressing a news meet in Patna on Wednesday, said: “The team from Cybotech Campus (Sunny Pallavi and Neha) have been selected for the national final round to be held in Bangalore on May 5, where the prize money for the winning team is Rs 1.5 lakh.”

Two more teams from Cybotech — one comprising Atul Kumar of BBA fourth semester and Ujjwala of BBA fourth semester and the other represented by Neeraj Kumar of BBA sixth semester and Harekrishna Kumar of BBA sixth semester — participated in the zonal round.

Under the Vidyadeep Case Study contest, the team of Neha and Sunny Pallavi is going to present a case study in the presence of business industries big names. In the finals they would deliver a presentation on MacDonald Supply Chain Management. In their presentations, the students would show how the company has managed to run their product successfully through supply chain management for so many years.

“In the zonal round, the teams were asked to present a case study on Asha (a health drink by Smithkline Beecham who owns Horlicks),” Abhijeet said.

Asha is a product available for the rural people at an affordable rate. The team prepared their case study through secondary inputs gathered from the Internet highlighting how the product is gaining popularity among the ruralfolk.

“Such case studies are beneficial for students during their study period, as they help them in their work after they graduate,” he said.

The teams have been provided some questions by Vidyadeep Case Study authorities and the case studies will have to be prepared accordingly. The three best presentations would be awarded as first, second and third.

Sunny Pallavi said: “I am happy to have been selected for the final round of the contest. I thank Cybotech Campus and its management that has enabled me to reach this level.” Pallavi’s partner Neha said: “Our dream to represent Bihar at the national-level has come true.”

The two said that by participating in such events, the students get an opportunity to give presentations in front of the big names of the industry. They said a thorough research has to be done before participating in such events.

“These are tough competitions,” they added.
